Barry Carter tells us why the hand in which Phil Helmuth decides “to run it 4 times”, for him the most favorite hand that was ever aired on TV.

last month announced PokerStars ( for Belgians) an election, in which your hands sent on some of their vast collection, could vote. They invited me to make a special “Critic’s Choice” vote for the same election. Part

Although there are still some sick hands between were, I did not hesitate long. The hand which Phil Helmut decision “to run it four times” against amateur Ernest Wiggins, was not only my favorite hand from the list, but it is also for me the most favorite hand that was ever aired.

You can see it for yourself:

The right people

When it comes to skills you do choose millions of hands that are much better, but when you look at it in terms of entertainment, it was just all this hand.

It had nice twists, and more importantly, the right people Phil also sat at the table.

You had Ernest Wiggins, a brutal amateur who apparently had quite to his liking, and was ready to confront Phil to go.

Then you Phil Laak, the clown, who was the head of the table to laugh. The only other person who could fill this position was his friend, Antonio Esfandiari.

And then of course Tony G, the trash talker, he obviously would not let go. You can unfortunately not look back in this movie, but immediately after the hand he begins to drill with the words “how can you call yourself a professional?”.

Phil the ground also was Daniel Negreanu of the party, the champion for the public. His role was therefore mainly represent the public, and the whole spectacle with comments.

Finally we Doyle, who played an important role in the background. He is a legend in the game, and his sour smile in response to all the bad luck that had Phil, was a picture in itself.

The correct script

You could also hand can not draw better. Not only played Hellmuth hand very weak, he had also a good deal of bad luck when the money went to the middle.

Why we actually laugh both the mistakes he made, as for its deep-rooted sense of injustice, when he loses.

The rest of the table also responded as if justice had finally happened. They all felt that Phil Wiggins was the slow roll, or at least to the nitrollen.

“Why is everybody so happy except Phil?”

I’d be there all day to watch.

Vote for the best poker hand ever
