The television of the future – What comes after ultra high definition? – Tweakers

It’s been almost two years since the first ultra high definition television hit the market in the Netherlands. Meanwhile, every self-respecting television manufacturer has a wide range of devices with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. It will be a while before uhd TVs as common as HD TVs now, but if prices have dropped enough there at one point almost no reason to buy a new phone for not an associate professor choose model.

There is much debate about the usefulness of the high uhd-resolution televisions with a “normal” image size, since higher resolution at smaller image sizes is only visible when you’re very close. Since the advent of flat screen TVs, the average image size by the ever decreasing prices, however, has increased significantly. At the time of the tubes an image size of 27 “was seen as great, now no one looks more like one from a TV with a 47″ screen

 27 & quot; tube

The average image size should still continue to increase for a while, but the end growth in sight. At a given moment is a television simply too large to fit in a car or on a flight of stairs to be worn. Moreover, most people would long before this kind of practical problems arise find the device too dominant in their living room.

An even higher resolution than the current uhd TVs seem not quite make sense, but what can television manufacturers do to improve the image of our televisions At IFA, from 5 to 10 September in Berlin, we spoke with several prominent people in television and we saw some demonstrations of prototypes. On this basis, we discuss in this article what the future in the field of TV picture technology has in store for us.
