Share digital television is growing in the Netherlands – MediaMagazine.nl

More households in the Netherlands watching digital TV in the Netherlands. The Media Standard Survey (MSS) conducted by TNS NIPO commissioned by Audience Research Foundation shows that the proportion of digital television the first half of 2015. 85.6 percent bedraagd. In the second half of 2014 this share was 83.6 percent. Most households watch digital television via cable at 54.6 percent, followed by digital television via Internet (IPTV) 12.7 percent and fiber (7.9 percent). Fewer and fewer households watch digital television via DVB (digital terrestrial television). The market share of Digitenne fell from 8.2 percent to 7.1 percent market share. Other appliances

36% of households have one. hard disk recorder connected to one or more devices. This percentage is similar to the percentage in the second half of 2014. 23% of Dutch households have a hard disk recorder integrated into the set-top box. 13% have a DVD player with integrated hard disk recorder, 10% of households have a DVD recorder without a hard drive. These percentages are similar to the second half of last year. The percentage of households with a DVD player has fallen from 51% in the second half of 2014 to 47%.



Smartphones and tablets

73% of people aged 13 and older in possession a smartphone. Owning smart phones continues to increase significantly: it is now growing at 73%. In the second half of 2014 was 63%. Tablet available in 60% of households. Connected TV in 31%. In 92% of households is a computer, which also offers internet access. However, the number of households with a desktop computer 54% decline in the second half of last year to 48%. Internet access via TV grows from 23% to 31% of households.

Tablets (eg. IPad or Android tablet PC) are present in 60% of households. In the second half of 2014 there was a tablet present in 55% of households. In 11% of households is a media center or dongle on your TV (such as Apple TV or Google Chrome Cast) present. This has almost doubled since the second half of 2014 (6%). The presence of media players in households in that period increased from 19% to 27%.
