Netflix subscribers watch less linear television – Entertainment Business

Dutch Netflix subscribers watch TV less linear than households without Netflix. Catch-up TV and content downloaded or DVD content is popular among Netflix users.

had in the second quarter of 2015, one in seven Dutch households have access to Netflix. They look almost a third less live TV than non-Netflix subscribers. That is more than half an hour per day less. This is evident from the Telecompaper Consumer Panel, which provides insight into the viewing habits of the Dutch consumers.

Other forms of video consumption by members of the streaming service or popular. This is about looking back example programs through the television itself (catch-up TV). Also, video content viewing via the internet (7 minutes more) and content obtained through downloads / DVD (9 minutes more) are popular among Netflix subscribers.

The Telecompaper Consumer Panel further suggests that a Netflix subscriber on average one hour watching the service or to another over-the-top video-on-demand provider. That’s 57 minutes more per day than non-Netflix subscribers.
