Hellendoorn – In Winter Wende will host Margje Fikse seeking the oerwortels of the rural culture and the last remnants popular beliefs of the regional culture of Overijssel. Along with filmmaker geertjan lassche she begins her quest at the place where she grew up along the river. TV Oost sends the documentary on Boxing Day at 20.00 and 23.00.
 

Winter Wende is the second part of the documentary series Oerijssel. The first part Zunne Winde appeared a year ago and went over the spring and spring rituals. Winter Wende revolves around fear of the dark, for mystery, for the punishment. Winter Wende works toward the midwinter night, the beginning of the Germanic joelfeest, as Derk with the Bear ‘haunts. Why should you be in on Christmas Eve? What does a magpie in your home? Margje Fikse trying to identify the source and make a series of special discoveries. She meets minister Henk Kamp Vree, who paganism knows everything from the time before Overijssel missionaries evangelized. Then fate turns against her. Is there a connection?
