RTL’s position around the Petes issue was to not adjust the appearance of the helpers, but a miscommunication with the team of television I Love Holland were in the program or to see colored Petes.
“The helpers debate is unfortunately very complicated and raises a lot of emotion,” said RTL in a statement. “It seems difficult to find a single solution that does justice to the Dutch tradition of Sinterklaas and which at the same time no one gets hurt.”
