“I’m often angry about things I see. Social issues and about how the world works. For example, about that so few protested. Not even against developments affecting our generation. The Maagdenhuis occupation introduced me a little confidence, but good, my research phase was a year earlier. It’s not fun to work from something negative or to go out with a loss. More interesting is to show people who do it differently. In this way I hope to inspire others. “

How did you find the group home?

” I went to a lot of groups along. For quite a while I was busy with Ecovillage Bergen. Those people are the first Ecovillage of Netherlands with the establishment and there I was doing long research. Then there asbestos in the premises, so they had to leave their caravans. That was a shame, because the group I found interesting because they have such a big dream and at the same time also a lot of friction was in the group. Plan B was the mandrill; political and cultural center in Maastricht. That group consisted of girls my age, or rather younger still, somewhere between 20 and 25. I found them very nice, but I doubted whether there really is a story in it. Yes, there was probably a conflict, but you can go to get there? Because there is asbestos came into the Ecovillage, I was forced to switch. That I really liked. I am delighted that they have been the end.

“They lead itself to political and cultural center where they organize everything. They are very active in politics: organizing concerts and workshops and they all live consciously in a commune. They try to lead by sharing all their clothes anti-capitalist life. Food they collect by dumpster diving. Everything they do very intense and very aware. Because I wanted to make a film about it. “

” I have mostly vary the shape of the film of what I would find. I wanted to have you in the film as a viewer in, that you are really at the kitchen table; like a fly on the wall. That was the starting point for both groups; be there without too much present. At some point however, we noticed that when people are always in a group, it is sometimes difficult to make them individually to come forward. Ultimately, we have one of the last days separate scenes in which she played two and two together in conversation. “

And you have also a bit orchestrated?
” I thought on questions and they make together. “

And it is obvious to the viewer?
” That is very clear. It is also a breach of style. “

And that works?
” Yes, I do like style fractions. You have to love it “
