Americans would rather watch television than phone – NU.nl

According to a report from Flurry .

By day this year Americans spend on average 198 minutes on the app’s 168 minutes while watching television. The researchers think the shift is a result of the rising popularity of apps for video streaming services like Netflix.

The normal internet browsing via mobile phones will not be counted as time on an app. As well as the time is included in a mobile browser, spends the average American 220 minutes a day on his phone.

The amount of minutes Americans spend on mobile apps is growing every year, yet the number of minutes in which they watching television barely fallen over the last three years.

According to researchers, it is very difficult to measure how much of the time one sits in front of the television, is being actively considered. “Today, television is often in the background, while people look on their phone,” said the researchers
