The first episode of the new TV series Johan last night just pulled a little over a million viewers. A reasonable debut, but it is not yet near the scores for example Doctor Deen at that time gets (an average of 1.8 million).
Johan is about the life of Johan Cruyff. In the VPRO series Reinout Scholten van Aschat plays the young Cruyff, Ian Buck takes the older Cruyff for his account. The acclaimed TV series Ramses tumbled in a few weeks from 632,000 to less than 400,000. It remains to be seen whether Johan – but on family channel Netherlands 1 – the same fate. The reactions on social media are predominantly positive.
