LG shows first bendable OLED TV - The Time

Oledlg Curved OLED TVs were a few months on the market, but LG now has a model in which the viewer” bending angle “can decide. The striking TV was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

about the sense or nonsense of a curved screen television is the last word has not been said. According to one, it is purely a design issue: a ‘thickness’ of just two millimeters to OLED panels are simply bow excellent, so why would designers – who are always looking for something original – made no use? According to manufacturers like LG and Samsung, however, certainly the curvature makes the picture for a better viewing experience. The scientific explanation behind this is that the distance between the screen and your (convex) eyeballs across the width is more or less the same. That would result in less distortion and even in some more depth feeling.

Until now, the manufacturers used a “fixed curve” of five degrees. But what of the IFA electronics fair in September, was considered the ideal bending angle, is now apparently not. “The size of the angle in practice is also determined by the screen size and viewing distance,” says LG. Hence their new 77-inch OLED TV with 4K resolution has an adjustable bending angle, you simply use your remote control. About the price and availability of the device is still not known.
