Today is exactly twenty years since East and West Germany were reunited. On television there is much attention to this event.
25 years of German reunification
At the celebration in the German Frankfurt Chancellor Angela Merkel, German President Joachim Gauck and many international guests present. In the evening there is a special show in which 25 light bridges over the river Main to see.
ZDF
The German television ZDF offers full day programs around the 25th anniversary of the German reunification. To see 12.00, there is the program ‘Festakt zum Tag der Deutschen Einheit’ by the German public television channel. Around 19:10 pm the program Einheits-Jubiläum – see Deutschland feiert and at 20:15 the Deutschland-Special of “Der Quiz Champion. ZDF can be seen on virtually any digital television packages in the Netherlands. In addition, portions of the programming from ZDF also be viewed via a live stream. Through the ZDF website are also several programs around to see the reunification online.

The CSS is doing tonight at NPO second report of the German Unity Day. Presenter Rob Trip receives in the studio in Hilversum include Krijn Thijs, historian of the Germany Institute Amsterdam. From Frankfurt, the city where the celebration takes place, doing correspondent Jeroen Wollaars live coverage. NOS also delves into the archives for historical images from the past 25 years. The program starts at 22.35 on NPO 2.
On Sunday, November 9th, 2014 it was twenty years ago that the Berlin Wall fell. On that day there were one NPO and NPO two different programs that were marked this historic event. These programs can be viewed on npo.nl.
