Sharp UQ10 Television Review – Between full-HD and 4K thanks to extra subpixels – Tweakers

Japanese television manufacturers are hard times. Competition from South Korea is fierce and profit margins on TVs are marginalized. Nor have the Chinese manufacturers determined to capture a greater market share and therefore did not make much sense to the same strategy there after to keep it as competition.

Of Sharp will ultimately survive falls on the television market remains to be seen, but at least they walk different paths in order to improve their chances. They focus primarily on large image sizes and they introduced some years ago Quattron televisions next to red, green and blue subpixels also have yellow subpixels. The usefulness of the yellow sub-pixels is debatable, since the use of cameras with ordinary rgb pixels.

on the recording side there is now a new generation of four-color technology called Quattron Pro that uses eight subpixels per pixel. This is done so that ultra-high-definition images can be used with a resolution that lies somewhere between associate professors and full-HD also displayed; a kind of associate professors-ready so. We looked around Quattron Pro TV, the Sharp Aquos UQ10 by 60 “image size stood at the time of writing for around 2200 euros in the Pricewatch. This is the smallest size in the series because there is also a 70 “- and a 80″ model listed in the Price Watch for Euro 3800 and 7000, respectively

The UQ10 can display 3D through active glasses and features a smart TV platform order soon.. Netflix to start the remote has a dedicated Netflix button inherited., the TV can also be controlled via an app on your smartphone or tablet and there is a media player available. In this review we will look at on the basis of measurements for the yellow sub-pixels mean for the color and of course we watch the television performs when displaying 4K material.
