Medemblik – The Delta Lloyd 24-Hour Yacht Race on August 28 and 29 adds a unique element to the biggest sailing event in the Netherlands. This year’s contest can be heard live on the radio and seen from Saturday via Youtube. Participants stay at home and through 24 hour and 24 hour Regatta Regatta Radio Tube TVs minute by minute informed of the progress of the sailors. Teams can still until Friday August 7 at the lower rate register for the 24 hour race in 2015.
The team from Medemblik Regatta Radio provides more than twenty-four hours live updates. From a mobile studio in the Regatta Center Medemblik team telephone contact with sailors, organizers, the public, at home and sponsors. From the water sailing doing reporters report on the trials of the participants who have to travel as many miles in 24 hours. Also, anyone can come during the broadcast in the studio on the first floor of the International Sailing Center at the Regatta Center Medemblik to tell how he or she experiences the Delta Lloyd 24-Hour Yacht Race.

The 24 Hour Regatta Radio broadcasts from Friday 18:00 to 20:00 Saturday from www.regattaradio.nl through the website.
Starting Saturday 12:00 live interviews are also broadcast on the Youtube channel of Zeilheilden. The highlight of the 24-Hour Yacht Race is longstanding finish in Medemblik, when all participants at the same time like sailing into the harbor of Medemblik. Regatta Radio is an initiative of yachtsman and journalist Jules Bänffer. With a team of presenters, technicians, cameramen and reporters Regatta Radio offers live radio and television during sailing events. Now, the Delta Lloyd 24-Hour Yacht Race will start on Friday August 28. The approximately 600 boats leave from fourteen locations along the IJsselmeer and Markermeer for this annual test of sailing skills and navigation knowledge and finish a day later off the coast of Medemblik. About 24 Hour Yacht Race
The Dutch Association of Coastal Sailors organizes for the 51th time the Delta Lloyd 24-Hour Yacht Race. The combination of art navigation, sailing, sociability and survival makes the event still loved by yacht sailors. The fleet consists of touring and competition classes. All teams have to take as many nautical miles in a day. They may set monetary tightening on the IJsselmeer, Markermeer, the Wadden Sea and North Sea sailed only twice, so navigation is essential. Besides seaworthiness and endurance of the entire crew, a good interpretation of the weather, the sailing area and the currents are important factors for the end result.
Participation in the Delta Lloyd 24-Hour Yacht Race is possible in the ORC Club, lap and Flatbottomyachts, VKSJ connected (classical) yachts, Poly Classic affiliated yachts, ocean-going multihulls and in non-measured cabin yachts.
